Miami celebrities homes

Do you live near a celebrity and you don't know it...?

Celebrities homes collage While some gossip lovers may find this thrilling enough to stand guard outside a home with a camera ready to shoot like a professional paparazzi, other people may avoid a nice home just to be as far away as possible from crowd-pullers. Ok, maybe that’s a little exaggerated and you might be somewhere between these two extremes. The truth is we all probably recall the moment when we came across with a famous star, so we can deny it’s kind of exciting. Since many of the known Miami residents sold their homes or moved out the city here’s and updated list of 20 popular celebrities actually living or owning a home in the city:
  • Boxer Floyd Mayweather owns a penthouse at St. Tropez in Sunny Isles Beach since 2010 when he bought it for almost $1.5 million. Penthouses in this condo are now worth roughly $2 million. Nice hit Floyd!

  • Colombian actress Sofia Vergara loves to live in a modest condo in the Lofts at Harding (300 74th St.) in North Beach she purchased for $165K in 2007, so you may even spot her at the supermarket.

  • The Rock! Famous actor Dwayne “The Rock" Johnson owns a 13,705 sq. ft. house located at 16715 Berkshire Ct., Southwest Ranches, almost 15 miles west of the beaches of Hollywood, with the Everglades as the backyard and maybe…alligators as pets? Well, nothing he couldn’t deal with.

  • Just a mile to the north, Miami Dolphins quarterback legend Dan Marino owns a 2,505 sq. ft. condo at 1647 Passion Vine Circle, Weston which purchased nine years ago for $655,000 according to public records. Bad investment considering the outlay was right before the 2008 real estate bubble.

  • Lil Wayne, four-time Grammy winner owns a huge 9-bedroom 15k sq. ft. mansion located at 94 La Gorce Circe in the homonymous island. As public records show he paid for it $11.6 million in 2011. Now it’s for sale so it could be yours for only $16 million!

  • Grammy winner singer and judge on TV show "The Voice" Pharrell Williams owns a condo in Brickell at the Bristol Tower skyscraper, 2127 Brickell Ave., since 2007 when he paid for it $12.5 million. It’s a three-story, five-bedroom 9,080 sq. ft. 40th floor penthouse with astonishing 360° views of Atlantic Ocean and Downtown skyline. He first tried to sell it for $16.8 million in 2012 but couldn’t get a deal even cutting off the price twice. It’s been re-listed now for sale for $10.99 million. Happy and fully-colored with paintings and murals of artists such as Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, it’s a true honor to the Pop-Art.

  • Speaking of colors and pop-art artists, Brazilian painter and sculptor Romero Britto who has an intimate connection with Miami has also a one-acre house located 6050 SW 124th St., Pinecrest, far away from the Britto Shop at Lincoln Road Mall. It’s a 2-story 5-bedroom 5-bathroom 7,100 sq. ft. single family home purchased for $1.6 million in 2004.

  • Iconic fellow citizens, Cubans Gloria and Emilio Estefan live since 1986 in private Star Island (the one closest to South Beach) in a fifteen thousand sq. ft. house on a gigantic two acres lot which includes a pool and a private tennis court. They got it for $600,000 and it is now worth almost $30 million dollars! 5000% ROI. And they have for sale their guest house, also in the Island, which they paid $1.84 million in 1993 and it’s now listed in $40 million. Look at that you guys at Wall Street!!

  • Another lifelong Miami citizen “King of Latin Pop" Enrique Iglesias, moved in 2009 to Bay Point, an exclusive gated community in the Upper East Side neighborhood, south to the Morningside Park. He paid $5 million for the 1.56 acres waterfront lot located at 4535 Sabal Palm Rd. and built a 7-bedroom 2-story 15k sq. ft. manse valued now at nearly $30 million.

  • Father of Enrique, Spanish crooner Julio Iglesias belongs to Indian Creek Village, one of the most exclusive gated communities in the U.S.A. Located at 11 Indian Creek Island Rd, near the only building on the island, the Country Club, the property is a 12k sq. ft. 3-bedroom house established in a 1.84 acre lot he acquired in 2012 for $15.2 million. This is his second one in the village, as he demolished his first one in 2008 after months listed.

  • In the pre-construction market, compatriot best Argentinian basketball player of all time and four-time NBA champion for the San Antonio Spurs “Manu" Ginóbili is one of the known early buyers in the ultra-exclusive twin 55-story tower bayfront project Paraiso Bay in the refreshed neighborhood of Edgewater. Units are scheduled to be completed by October 2016.

  • Ultra-exclusive five-star Fisher Island Club Hotel & Residences is home for world-popular celebrities like Julia Roberts, Mel Brooks and Andre Agassi (Oprah and Boris Becker used to own here too). Located at 17 Fisher Island Dr., the resort includes amenities such as golf course, fitness center, swimming pools, spa, tennis courts, shopping, restaurants, lounges and a wellness center. Stay for $2,000 per night and you may spot some of them.

  • Actor Andy Garcia has the 9k sq. ft. house located at 14 Harbor Pt., Key Biscayne. With a vintage Cuban style and private boat-dock to the Biscayne Bay this four-bedroom estate can provide all you need for your perfect vacations for only $50,000…yes, it’s listed for rent since August 2015

  • Dominican homerun machine Sammy Sosa, dropped $7.6 million for a Golden Beach oceanfront dream mansion. He bought the 2-story 7-bedroom 7,272 sq. ft. home located at 667 Ocean Blvd. in November 2013 but a fair listing value now could be near $12 million

Millionaire’s Row

  • Miami Heat star Chris Bosh lives since 2010 in 6396 North Bay Road in elite community La Gorce, a 15K sq. ft. mansion, with 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. This house was a dazzling $12.3 million luxury for the player.

  • Another Millionaire’s Row neighbor is the (breathe first…) singer, songwriter, Oscar-winner English, author, drummer, musician, producer, seven-time Grammy winner, actor and Genesis frontman Phil Collins who recently bought the 1.2 acres and 11 bedrooms “château" located at 5800 North Bay Road where J Lo used to live. She sold it for $14 million in early 2005, but Phil had to plunk down $33 million for the entire lot last year according to public records.

  • New Yorker fashion designer Calvin Klein’s “private waterfront sanctuary" is an eight thousand sq. ft. house located at 4452 North Bay Road, at the very center of the Nautilus / La Gorce community. It is listed since mid-2015 for sale for $16 million. Furnishings and antiques of exquisite taste by world renowned designer Axel Vervoordt embellish the place.

  • People usually say that Oscar-winner Matt Damon also lives in this exclusive street in the west of Miami Beach, but for those that don’t know the latest gossips, the “news" is he sold his 7-bedroom house in late 2014 to the mortgage mogul Patrick Markert for $15.3 million according to Miami-Dade public records.

  • Hips don’t lie, neither do public records! Shakira could never sold her 2-floor 6-bedroom Sunset Lake house purchased for $3.3 million fifteen years ago even though she listed for sale for $15 million in 2013. You can found it at 3140 North Bay Road, near the Julia Tuttle Causeway.

  • Elmer Figueroa Arce, a.k.a “Chayanne" is also an old neighbor in the Millionaire’s Row where he lives since 1999 when he bought the house located in La Gorce at 4600 N Bay Rd for $1.3 million as public records indicate. Two stories, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 6,564 sq. ft. living area in a half-acre lot valuated now approximately at $12 million (which half may count for the location), make the Torero one of the smartest investors in the neighborhood.
