In case you rent you vacation house you have to consider leaving a landlord representative, for example I usually locate the renters, receive payments on the landlord behalf, conduct check ins and check out, inspect the property after the tenant vacates the place, and call for maintenance if necessary, because you may not have the time to travel anytime your tenants need it.
