Alan Faena's wonderland

Alan Faena

There's no doubt his early fashion designer career has well-influenced on the personal style of this creative "curator", as he refers himself.
With fully-colored decoration and fine art architecture, visionary Alan Faena has redefined Miami Beach art concept.

Miami Beach Faena District is a $1 billion four-block waterfront project that spans from the 32nd to the 36th streets on both sides of Collins Avenue and started in 2013.
With the help of his “collaboratory” team (as he call it this laboratory of collaborators), this glorious project will include the restoration of the late ‘40s historical Saxony Hotel renamed now Faena Hotel redesigned by Roman & Williams, a sold-out 47-unit residential beachfront condos, the Faena House, completed in July by Foster+Partners, a 15,000 sq. ft. spa (Tierra Santa Spa), a marina, a retail center (Faena Bazaar) and an arts center, the Faena Forum. The retail+arts center will be a fifty thousand sq. ft. building run by the Pritzker prize-winning dutch star architect Rem Koolhaas . The great opening of this real estate and art venture is set to November, 29, as said Faena and his team in a private event at the intimate European-style Casa Claridge's Faena Hotel

The Faena House, located at 3315 Collins Ave., is a 16-floor building with 47 units scheduled for occupancy to November 1st, 2015. Floorplans range from one to five bedrooms and 1300 to 4730 sq.ft. indoor space and the building is topped by two full-floor penthouses. Units have large oceanview open-air balconies with "aleros" (eaves) and floor-to-ceiling window walls spurring to enjoy the indoor-outdoor living. Long-time Faena's collaborators Foster+Partners was in charge of this construction

If not enough with this colossal project, the developers recently announced the addition of two residential towers.
Faena Versailles Classic will be a renovation of the classic 16-stories Versailles Hotel. This 22-unit tower will be refurbished by William Sofield and will preserve most of the glorious forties style by leaving the design of the lobby, art deco façade and old-fashioned chandeliers almost untouched. Units will range from one to four bedrooms.
Faena Versailles Contemporary will be a 19-stories 41-unit tower designed by Brandon Haw ranging from one to five bedrooms.
In April, developers received an $80 million construction loan from HSBC for this enterprise, which adds to the $300 million refinancing arranged in January 2014 from the same bank for the Faena District. With prices ranging from $3 to $50 million both are scheduled to be completed by January 2017.
